Wildflowers Are Intentional

"It’s not about being called the wildflower, it's about the one who loves you.”

Have you ever felt unintentional, random? Or maybe you felt like a sore thumb, a wildflower in the midst of roses? It just seems like you can’t do anything right? Or perhaps you simply feel like a mistake?

Yeah, there are a lot of people like that come to think of it.

In our world today, we seem to be smiling and cheering but don’t really know where we fit in. A lot of us are trying to create our own communities to fit in, self-making our own "happy place". But for some reason, it isn't quite working. We still don't quite fit in. There's still that feeling of randomness, like "What's this all about anyway"?

If you feel this way, I have this one thing for you - In Christ, you're not random, you're intentional. You're made for a purpose, on purpose. It doesn't have to feel like it but it's the truth. Let's say we're a wildflower for a minute. Yes, stay with me, I'm going somewhere. So you're a wildflower for a minute. In the fields all by you're lonesome. Your colors don't seem "right". I mean you see all these sea of red, purple, and grey but you're just these yellow petals held by a green stalk. And nothing seems to be right. The situation of your birth doesn't make sense. You seem to be the only one with the issues you've been through, everyone else seems to have a perfect life ( they probably don't), and you're not sure if you're even worth anything if you can't be like the "right" folks. Well, dear wildflower, you're actually in the right place, at the right time in the right area. Your colors are just right.

So here's the thing if you're in Christ, you were predestined a long time ago to be in Him. Like being in Christ was not actually random (Ephesians 1: 4 - 6). Imagine everything else in your life. Before you knew Him, He already called you "beloved" (Ephesians 1:6). "Complete", "pleasurable", "right", "correct", "pleasant", "real" and "blessed". You're free to be the wildflower because you're ok just like that. You don't have to have the perfect past, lineage, or start. You just have to have Jesus. That's all you need to be good.

So don't worry, you're alright. It's not about being called the "wildflower", it's about the one who loves you.

Oh and by the way, God cares for wildflowers, if you ever felt like one (Luke 12:27 - 30). He ensures they flourish. In the same breath, He says we're way more valuable than wildflowers so imagine, what He sees for us. Yeah... you're not random.
